transmission stutters 3-4-3-4-OD 900 1992

115K miles. It seems that this only happens when the car is warmed up. It is a constant after that. Takes off and shifts fine throught 1&2. Then it hits 3 quickly goes to 4, says, "whoa, I shouldn't be here, yet," goes back to 3 for a little while longer, then to 4 then to OD. It does it in "E" and "S" selector settings. I do not feel any slipping. I think I have found a recall that has not been done that pertains to the motronic and transmission control (issued May 92). Anybody familiar with this?
