Hello all

Under the hinges there is a black wire that is soldered to the undersides, but these wires are broken due to wear. Is this the ground wire? If so,how do I replace these? Or do I splice the old ones and reconnect? How can I get the cylinder off my hatch and install into the new hatch? Thanks for the information
