Grinding noise 200 83

I've got a terrible grinding sound when i pull my 83 volvo DL to a stop, this also happens when I start moving again. I just got the breaks worked on this summer, and it seems like i'm always getting new ball joints here and there. Anyways i don't know a whole lot about cars, and i want a bit of advice before I take it to the shop.
