The Easiest Electrical Fix Yet 200 1988

A little FYI

I bought my car with "everything working" and since then have been keeping a list of things to fix, and things to explore.

The rear demist fell under both lists. First look at the fuse box and No. 12 was blown. A new fuse blew right away. I assumed I was to begin an endless chase through the electrical wiring. I also noticed the back-up lights and seatbelt warning were not working. I began to pull each wire (with the battery disconnected) from the No. 12 fuse box post to find the culprit. Aha! Those colored bars next to each fuse suddenly made sense, yet did not match. The connections between No. 12 & 13 were mixed up. I matched the colors on the fuse box to the wires (this sounds really elementary) and viola! I installed all new fuses (many were the wrong amperage) and now the rear demist, seatbelt warning light/buzzer and back-up lights work!

Now I have to fix those heated seats.

In Cleveland, with a high temp today of 18,

Kirk
