240DL Won't start 200 88

My 88 240DL will not start. Battery is okay - radio goes on, etc. No click when turn key in ignitiion. Previous owner had this problem 2 times - took to dealer and they did something under the hood that took a matter of seconds. Any idea what they could have done or what problem may be? Thanks!
