blown headgasket 200 1986

Has anyone ever had a 240 blow a head gasket without any apparent over heating? Found water in the oil this morn. White crud on dipstick. There was no overheating. The car has 150,000 miles on it and want to know what caused the gasket to fail. Thanks all
