an interesting cure for single-pump CI woes caused when the pump refuses to kick into life without an encouraging tap, was to fit a DPDT relay in the boot with one side of the coil fed by the pump 12v supply and the other side running to a small pushbutton which when pressed supplies reverse polarity to the pump, un-jamming it into life. it works!
