Alternator bushing replacement 700 1990

Dear Brick-persons:

My 1990 745 (95K) is due to have it's alternator bushings replaced.

Visually, I can see that the alternator is "cocked" slightly vis-a-vis

the crank pulleys, the bushings are squashed to one side and there is a wierd noise in that general vicinity.

Several questions for those of you who have done this job:

1) How many bushings are there in total (alternator + p-s pump + AC compressor) ?

2) Is the job "a bitch" so that I would want to go for all of them at one shot....or maybe do the alternator ones first, give it a listen and then

attempt the other, less accessable ones only if necessary?

3) Any "secrets" to doing this job or tips from those of you who have already skinned your knuckles with this project?

4) The alternator drive belt appears (visually) to be in good shape....but maybe this is a good chance to replace it anyway. The belt is OEM Volvo brand - it is stamped with lots of codes, etc. Anybody know how to read the date-of-manufacture code on the belt? That way I could judge how old it is....

5) I believe the alternator has never been out of the car. Since I will be in the vicinity, is this a good time to have the thing rebuilt professionally....or at least replace the brushes? Or is it best to follow the "if it ain't broke..." rule?

Many thanks in advance to all!
