240 carburetion.... 200 1980

I know the main fuel pump on my k-jet 240 is way too much pressure to feed a carburetor. Should I get the mechanical pump from a canadian 240, or can I use just the transfer pump in the tank? How much pressure can the transfer pump provide? I know I probably dont want more than 3 PSI.
