stalling at decelleration 200 1991

My 91 240 wagon has had a problem of stalling when I'm about to stop or slow down. I took it to two non-volvo mechanics and neither were able to figure out why. I went to a dealer who also couldn't replicate the stalling, so instead put it through a computuer and found a laundry list of problems. They wanted to charge me over $2k for all the labor and parts, so I declined. Since then (two weeks) I haven't experienced any stalling at all. Any adivse?

Since this board appears to be a bunch of guys who know how to work on these cars, I'll list what they found:

code 231: long fuel trim (recommend: replace cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires and coil wire/clean throttle body and replace temperature sensor/replace 02 sensor/repair vacuum leaks/replace mass air meter

code 221: long fuel too lean

code 123: temperature sensor signal absent

code 322: mass air flow sensor burn off signal/recommended repair/ ignition parts burned out: distributor electrode missing/plugs fouled and O2 sensors fouled

Would you go to a reputable mechanic (non-volvo) to check these things out? Or back to another Volvo specialty shop?

thanks

Dana
