Restart 242glt 200 83

Hi guys,

Getting closer to refiring b21ft and have question.Realize now that motor in car ought to be checked out before I replace(have another on stand).But looking at the exhaust ports,turbo/man off,#s 1 and 2 cyl have a lot of carbon foul inside and there is plenty of oil on the front half of the motor beneath the head gasket.Yhe plugs I pulled from these cyls seem ok,no oil fouling.

Hoping that its just the head gasket.Any Ideas?I dont want to go to the trouble of intercooling,230 intake man swap on a motor with worn rings.Leak down going to do,but what are chances of worn/shot rings on 175k b21ft.
