DASHBOARD ELECTRICAL FAILURE 700 1987

I had to reset my 5000 mile service light button on the back of my speedometer, so I took the two screws off of the front - as I always do - and carefully slid out the dash instrument cluster, hit the button, and slid it all back into place. Now the whole cluster is dead !! All of the warning lamps on the bottom row don't light up - except for the battery light - and the gas, battery charge, speedometer, and rpm gauges,

are all also dead. The coolant temp gauge is intermittent. I thought that I had popped a fuse, but didn't find any blown fuses, and besides, all of the gauge illumination lights still work. I thought I may have pulled a wire off, but can't find any loose wire that might be the culprit.

Any ideas, guys?
