Keyless entry--aftermarket units work? 200 1982

Does the type of electric lock system on my 245GLT prevent me from using an aftermarket keyless entry device? If one can be used, I am particularly interested in the "Avitar" series, but if you or anyone you know has had success with other/better brands, please speak up and let me know if this is a headache to install or somewhat simple. Thanks!
