Oil Pressure Light 700 1986

I am perplexed by this problem and want to know anything anyone can suggest to me. My oil pressure light (on the dash)comes on every few weeks, stays on for a few seconds and then goes back out, and stays out. I stop the car, check the oil, check for oil leaks, nothing. I just don't want to ignore it. Could it be a sign of something getting weird? The oil pump?

Thanks for any advice any of you can give me.
