Brakes Lights??!!?? 700 1988

Hey gals and guys

I have a problem and I know someone on here has had the same thing happen and might have fixed the problem. The brake lights work without the lights on, when the lights are on NO brake lights work, not even the 3rd. The 3rd light does a flicker kinda thing but nothing else. I just replaced the bulbs. Can someone assist me? Its hard tryin to hit the back fog lights all of the time. Also has anyone ever wired the back fog lights to make stop lights? Please post a message..
