fuel pressure regulator / water temp sensor 700 1987

Will a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator cause an engine to load up and run rich on a cold start-up,[within a couple minutes] to the point of flooding out? Same question concerning the water temp sensor. Or will they both just cause over rich conditions, allowing the car to run, but poorly? What happens if you disconnect the Water Temp Sensor, and drive the car without it, will it tell you anything ?
