I have removed the fan, radiator shroud, and front engine cover on my '86 B230F in an effort to replace the timing belt. I've done t-belts on b23 engines before, but this one looks a little different. First, the plastic cover looks to be two separate pieces instead of one. How do I remove the lower piece? Also, the pulley at the bottom of the engine has a large bolt holding it on instead of five separate screws like the B23F. I can't loosen this bolt to save my life. Is a special tool required, or just more "elbow grease"? There looks to be two pieces to the pulley. Is the other gizmo the harmonic balancer? I plan on replacing the water pump before I put the new belt on and flushing the cooling system. I also have a set of cam seals for this engine that I would like to install. What is the procedure for removing and install new seals?
Is there anything else that I should check/replace before I button her up?
Thanks in advance!
