change to synthetic oil? 700 92

I'm thinking of switching to synthetic on my 740t with 150k mi. 2 questions

1. Will this enhance the small leak I have now and is it much to fix?

2. Do I continue to use the same viscocity? I currently use 20W-50 living in Florida. By the way replaced turbo at 130k mi.
