Oil Light 200 1984

1984 245 DL Automatic Non-Turbo. Changed oil abt 500 miles ago. The Oil Light started flickering occasionally, but the oil qty was full. Then the flickering became more frequent, but still OK oil qty. It seemed the flickering was associated with the minor road bumps. The flickering continued to be more & more frequent over the next 50-70 miles, then it came on steady and remains steady when the engine is running. Still full oil qty. I assume the problem is either the oil sending unit or the oil pump. How do I troubleshoot the problem to determine the cause of the light? Thanks,
