non-standard tire sizes 700 1986

time to replace the tires on my stock 14-inch wheels. If I don't mind sacrificing a little ride comfort for a little better handling, is there any reason I shouldn't go with 185/60 rather than the prescribed 185/70? I know the 740td used 185/65. Any other recommendations? As for the tires themselves, I was thinking Dunlop D60 A2s. Since I have to buy new tires anyway, ...
