back seat release 700 87

Help! After putting seat covers on my 740 wagon, the release lever to

tilt the seat forward broke, and I can't release the seat no matter how hard I pull on the lateral rod. I think there is some strap caught

somewhere in the mechanism. Is there any alternate way to remove the

second row seats? I can't see one!
