Squeaks in front suspension 900 1994

Occasional squeaking sounds when the car hits a bump, especially when the weather is cold. Sounds to me like a rubber bushing may be squeaking. My independent mechanic said he couldn't find it, but had heard from a Volvo mechanic that 960 body mounts do that sometimes and you just have to live with it.

Is this a common problem? Any suggestions on how I can diagnose and fix it? Even if I determine that it's a particular bushing, what would I use to quiet it? Silicone spray? I suppose that any oil-based products would cause the rubber to deteriorate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
