Front Speaker Replacement 700 1990

I have discovered that my front speakers are blown. I removed the grill and my speakers are mounted with rivets. I am thinking that I should drill out the rivets and mount new ones. My question is this, will I have to remove the door panel our do you all think you can do this all from outside the panel and not remove it.
