Leaking Steering Rack -- How bad? 200 86

The car has been up on stilts for the better part of the winter getting various repairs done. I knew it had a leaking steering rack (CAM), but I was surprised to find now the PS bottle is empty!

It all leaked out into the right boot (I spent a few minutes spilling it out....)

I pulled back the boot and sprayed some carb cleaner into that end of the rack cylinder, then packed it with grease.

Will soon be refilling and "burbing" the system.

How serious does this sound?

Replacement time?

I am thinking about watching it for about 3000 miles and check again at its first oil change

car has 187,000 miles
