where is it? rpm sensor 200 89

Where is this on an 89? The engine rmp sensor, or the engine speed induction (?) sensor. I looked at the bell housing and could not find anything. Is it by the starter? Also once I find it, how do I test it or calibrate?

Still have retarded ign timging.
