Thank you to various electrical gurus,including Ray Starkie,Don Foster,plus the guy who checked the electrical diagram for me.Without you,it would have been over 300$ parts and labour.
To recap,problem was central lock only unlocks driver's door and trunk.
As you gurus pointed out,driver's side passenger door and trunk share same circuit,therefore since the unlocking of the trunk still works,cant be the switch ,must be the relay.
Dealer wanted >110 C$ for relay plus tax,got one from thepartsbin.com for US$43,shipped to mu cousin in the US,who relayed (pun intended)the part to me without tax.great site correct part #,now it works.Did not install it cos of previous cold weather.
To recap,in the 90 740 GL,it's not the K relay as noted in the FAQ.Its the central one,the L.Anyway,thepartsbin.com site will give you the correct part #,though its not Volvo ,Its made in Germany with some plastic part scraped off to hide part #.Anyway,it works.
