Blown 740 Turbo Engine 700 1987

Hi All,

Several years ago my dad shipped his 740 out to the Philippines. Some idiot was driving it and let it run bone dry thus causing the engine to blow. My dad called me to tell me that the engine needs to be overhauled and that he needs the following:

1. Piston Ring Kit

2. Thermostat

3. Temperature Switch

What is a piston ring kit? How many will I need? Is this all that is needed to fix? I have no idea so any help would be great! How much should I pay for a piston ring kit?
