Antena for playing CD? 900 1991

Hi,

My 1991 940GLE is fitted with CR-708 radio, CD-401 module (for 6 disc changer) and EQ-611 equalizer. Of course there is a factory amp under the dash. Whenever i turn the knob on, the antena will fire up (fine) and if I turn off, the antena will go down (fine). But if I were to switch on the CD module, the radio will be cut off (lights on the LCD will go off) and the cd module will come to live. However, my antena will always be up even the CD module is on unless i turn off the knob. I tried switching off the radio and then switch on the power button on the cd module but nothing happens.

Am i missing something??? i see no point why i need the antena when I am listening to CD. I normally listen to Cd on the interstate highway and with the antena up, i worry that it may get swayed backward and over time it will be not be straight up (as I have seen on some cars). Any suggestion???

Thanks.
