My daily driver 244GL 1986, miles are 184955 plus no o/d 3 years has begun dragging in back, noticed in going out a drive onto street that a scrape sound occurs that didn't used to, and muffler et al are all OK. So it's gotta be old saggy srpings. Now I'm using 205/70-R14 tires to raise the rear, but the stock tire is 185/70-R14 so I really need to fix it.
Found in a salvage yard today two 242T's, an 83 and an 84. Tempted to get the front & rear anti-sway bars ($35 each pulled) and the rear springs ($20 each). BUT I don't know if the 242 springs will hold up the 244. Can you tell me if the springs would work?
Also, is the $35 a good price for an anti-sway bar. Did those 242T's have other special goodies? Front struts, for instance?
BTW, that yard had others, including a 1994 940 with B230FT, smashed in the RH center pillar but otherwise OK. Some B230FT's in 700's, too. Severla 245's, saw one set of good cargo door hinges. Most cars were Texas cars with little or no rust apparent.
Thanks,
