Following the good advice of some here, I installed Hayden electric fans on the front of the radiators of my two gray '87 240 wagons. I bought the Hayden relays that included temperature sensing probes for the radiators as well as a sensing wire for the A/C clutch. Both relays failed within a couple of weeks, either not turning on the fan or running it even after the car was shut down (we're talking hours here). I have been unable to find a simple 12 volt relay that will sense the A/C clutch wire and turn on the fan when the compressor is running. Isn't that a reasonable way to run the fan, or am I missing something? And, where can I find one? Any ideas? Auto parts stores and Radio Shack couldn't seem to help me.
