79 5speed to 81 3speed swap? 200 81

the aw55 3speed auto just went out in my 1981 262c. i have a dead 79 245 with a 5speed manual. will the 5speed mate to the prv6? and if so, what about input shaft differences and bellhousing differences? i want to keep my prv6. it's running fine at the moment.
