Access to license plate bulb? Rear Brake Light burnout 700 1988

1988 Volvo 740 Turbo 4 door sedan B23OFT 4 Cylinder 2.3 liter

Access to license plate bulb? Rear Brake Light burnout

How do you get access to the license plate light bulb? I presume the black plastic frame/retainer and clear lens is one unit, and I simply pry it away from the body of the car?

Three rear brake lights have failed in the last 10 days. Post failure all looked the same - cloud gray color and cracked glass. Any comments or ideas?
