AW70 overdrive 200 84

Hello all need some help with an overdrive problem as my Chilton manual has zero detail about this system/circuit. Last week I could not shut the overdrive off with the switch on the gear selector, then it work 1 day about 4 times now it is off and won't turn back on, sounds like a switch to me but like I said my manual does not go it to any detail. Is this strictly an electronic system or are there any solenoids or relays to check. If it is the switch how do you get it out of the handle to replace it. Also thanks to all with the help on the front brakes(calipers would not release)it was both calipers, I also did hoses and lines while I was at it.
