amp light 200 1981

I just bought a well used 242glt for $200 to round out my volvo fleet. The amp light is always on even though the dash mounted voltmeter indicates a funtioning alternator. I also measured alternator output with a digital multimeter which agreed with the onboard voltmeter. Any suggestions/remedies for the extingushing the idiot light?

Blaine England, Volvos galore incl: 1956 TP21, 1958pv 444, 1959 pv445 , 122 estate.(also 245's, but these seem more like appliances)1981GLT
