I am looking to buy a 240T and have identified a silver 1984 car in beautiful cond. All available info I've come across on the net states this is a 2127cc B21 engined Turbo.
However the logbook states it has a B23 2316cc engine. Initially I was wondering if this was a "hot" car ie. engine/chassis nos. tampered with, until I read Paul Grimshaw's Volvo Performance Handbook - the B23 WAS available on 240s (not on the Nth American market perhaps). I've concluded the car is genuine as it was sold by the local Volvo franchisee to the 2nd owner. The current 3rd owner, since 1993) is a employee of the 2nd owner company.
What can anyone tell me about this model? It seems to have all the usual turbo ancillaries which differentiate it from the NA versions - dash with additional gauges, 15in alloy wheels. i'm not 100% sure, but i did not see a intercooler at the front.
No use asking the franchisee for more info, the 240T was a special import, very rare in these parts, and that was umpteen years ago.
Does this car have K or L Jetronic FI? What is the power output from the factory?
thanks

Ps. If the 240T deal works out, I am sooo gonna lurve this car (and it's meant to be for the missus!). I can picture a hundred and one performance mods to do on the car already!
