Thank you all (Don F., LK Tucker, Rob K.) that replied to my last message for my non starting 1985 240DL.
I finally got around to replacing the ignition coil as that seemed to be where the problem might be. Well it wasn't. I replace all the plugs and rotor and cap too and it still just cranks and cranks but does not start. It seems to be getting fuel as when I pulled the plugs again I can smell gas on them. And the fuel relay by passengers feet clicks all the time when I turn key and try to start. How can I prove that fuel is not the problem?
I assume the problem is with the spark as I can't seem to get any, even from the coil directly.
Can anyone help me with a step by step process of other areas I can check.
I am getting desperate... please any help is appreciated.
Thanks
PS. I got the coil from www.gapa.com -- not bad prices and was local for me in LA area.
