I think I found the OD problem...... 200 1985Ti

The sucka (M46 OD) that acted up last Thursday wouldn't repeat....hot cold, fast slow, smooth or bumps.....4.5 days of driving and no OD in-out problems. I thought I was safe.

Until this AM - I slammed it into OD and it went in OK - went maybe 1 mile then whammo jerking neck bone pulverizing rapid in-out 20 cycles - just wouldn't stay engaged. Decided to just drive in 4th. 8 miles later I put her in OD and all was well. Drove home a tad early....

Finally some relaxing car work - I've just been doing too many home projects.

I checked all the topside "whar-ring"...no problems found.

Anyhowjacktheleftsideup, whammy the 4 jackstand in place (you can never be too safe) and take all my necessary tools including 12 v battery, meter ect under the belly of the blue beast. Solenoid still looking old and tired....had juice there with button pushed....solenoid clicks with 12V battery, etc and ad naseum...all seems well BUT man are the terminals loose and VERY oxidized. Cleaned them well down to the bright metal, soaked well with contact cleaner and pinched the female wire terminals plugged and unplugged a few times.....that seemed to be the weak link. We'll see...tomorrow.
