Installing AMM 700 91

Whats the procedure for checking the AMM after installing it in a 91 740 T? In my old 240GL, I'd run the car for a minute, then shut it off and watch the filiment on the inside glow red to make sure its burning off the residue. Is it the same in the turbo?
