Cold Start trouble 200 83t

Hey.

I was wondering if anybody could help me. My car starts horribly when the engine's cold. Even remotely cold. Heh.

It's only got 121k on it, and that's the damndest thing.

Let's take an example:

I drive the car to school. But in order to get it started, I have to crank it 5 to 10 times and give it gas (push the accelerator in a bit). Sometimes it'll live for a couple seconds, but then if i give it too much gas it'll die right then (flooring it, for example.) After a while it'll live when i give it a steady amount of gas. When leaving school i power-brake around the parking lot for about 2 minutes and it's fine after that. I really only have a couple ideas.

1. The Idle might be too low. It idles at about 1000rpm now, but shakes a little.

2. Cold Starter stuff. I know a little about this, but not enough to say more than this about it.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Victor Wilson
