loss of Turbo on hard acceleration 700 92

92 740 Turbo: Good soft to medium acceleration but when the turbo gauge needle hits a little past mid-point on harder acceleration, a strange sound is heard and the brick loses acceleration and the needle drops off. Just had the low pressure a/c hose replaced, maybe something got screwed up in the process?
