Swapping Turbo's between families? 700 1984

OK I know all the T25 and T28 turbos will have the same flange and T3's etc. Well my Miata has a Mitsubishi TD04 on it. I think I remember a Volvo having the same turbo on it from the factory. Well I was thinking of upgrading up to a T28. Lager turbo but still quick spool up. Do you guys know if the TD04 flange is the same as a T2 series Garret turbo flange. Or is there any other turbos that bolt to the Mitsubishi TD04 flange that you know of. Oh ya I have a Volvo 760 Turbo Intercooler. I am trying to fix a cold start going into gear stalling problem I am having. It looks like someone else has already asked htat question. Thanks guys. Miatamike
