Power lock on drivers door very to hard to turn/lock. 200 '91

Hi,

The power lock on my '91 240 is getting harder and harder to turn/lock. Feels like it is going to break off the key. Any ideas? I am ready to take the door panel off but have no experience with the locking system. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
