Windshield trim restoration 900 1994

My 945 windshield trim project is done. The rusted trim pieces would have been over 300 bucks at the Volvo dealer, so I pulled the older-style stainless trim off a 740 in a scrap yard (15 bucks), cleaned it, painted it with "Mar-Hide" satin black trim paint, and popped it on. It looks very good, and fits perfectly.

I did shorten the side pieces a quarter inch so that the rubber bottom ends fit under the cowl plate in the 940 way. This is tidier and gives one less place for grit to stick and cause rusting. The Mar-Hide trim paint is very strong smelling, but sticks to anything, dries fast, and has a very even satin sheen. I don't know about long-term durability, but is does give super-looking results. If your trim is off the car, this is the way to go.
