a/c vent trouble 200 '88

a/c works great and everything with the exception of the foot vent. when the system is in normal operation (blowing from the vents for the body), it still blows on the feet. when i press the button for the feet, it blows harder there and the body vents are not nearly as forceful. is this gonna be a hunt and peck job or has anyone had this same problem and can help me narrow my search??
