HELP!!! I killed my wiper motor??!!!!! 200 1984

So,

I followed the instructions from the wiper motor thread & "dave's" web site, BUT I couldn't get the screws on the motor undone to get inside (I wnat to fix the magnet). So, I needed to go get another screwdriver that I thought was in the '77 (my girlfriends), and I put it all back together.

Not too much problem, but when I tried the wipers, they moved 1/4", then the arm came loose and the motor kept working but the wipers wern't. Okay, I stuffed up, but not too badly.

I got home (still minus that screwdriver!), and pulled the motor out again, so that I could re-align it & get the cog lined up porperly etc.

Pulled the cover off the cog. (Still can't get those scews undone to the motor though AAAHHH!). Decided to get the motor to re-centre itself, so plugged the motor in, and turned my windscreen wipers on - nothing (yes, i did turn the key). Checked the plug - its okay - checked the contacts - they seem okay. I'm guessing the motor is centred at the moment, but am not sure. The cog is positioned so the slopey bit it is pushing the contact arm up and touching the top contact arm. I've checked all the fuses. I've power to everything else. It doesn't work with the cover on or off.

PLEASE HELP!

John
