Won't start at times 200 1988

Bought a very well kept 240DL - much has been rebuilt, and the car runs great - but on occasion it refuses to start. There is spark at the plugs, so I figure it's probably in the fuel delivery system. Any ideas about where to start - I'm sure there's a logical approach to working through this problem - any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
