740GL 700 1987

Please help. I am looking at purchasing a 740GL 87 auto. It has 338,000 kays (226,000 miles on thew clock. I have a few questions, what potential problems could be expected? The temperature guage runs at halfway most times (I live in Australia important in summer). The car seems to go well and is straight and original. Please Help!!! Regards potential first Volvo owner.
