replacing the heated hoses on my 133k mile 240 was the dreaded chore this weekend....looked to brickboard w/o success for a shorcut.......did in all honesty find a clue from george swift saturday 13june1998 @ 02:55 that gave me insight but not, exact info for 1990 240's ....... first the fuel supply for the cold-start injector and the flame trap are obstacles that can be overcome w/o too much effort. using the 7mm socket, and a long extension is "excellent advice" THANKS GEORGE SWIFT { if i was gonna do this and "beat the flat-rate-book i would add a 7mm long nutdriver to my arsenal/toolbox} dropping the socket off the extension and onto the 'flame trap source caused me to expend about half-my-cuss-words... on balance the removal went smoothly / almost too easy. however the re-installation was another-story. i didn't have GEORGE SWIFT'S "slippery-stuff" and used good ole DAWN dishwashing soap. DAWN worked well under the circumstances, {gonna get some "slippery-stuff" or ARMORALL, whichever/whatever ASAP} locating the watersource at the head was the most difficult part of the chore, but with the use of the-rest-my-cuss-words, and half-my-religion i got the chore done. installed a new t-stat for good luck and i am again a VOLVO driver....just thought you'd enjoy another been-there-done-it story..
{GEORGE SWIFT, watching me type this would make KEYSTONE KOPS serious drama}
