Chrome Trim 200 1985

The trim around the side and rear windows and the windshield on my 240 DL has a dull, hazy coating on it which I have been unable to polish out so far. Not sure if this trim is aluminum or stainless steel or what. Anyone have any tips for a product that might work? Thanks, Paul
