fuel pump will not stay on!!!!!!! 200 85

My 240 Dl Volvo when you turn the ignition on, you can hear the fuel pump buzzing. When you crank the engine the fuel pump shuts off. For the time being I have been using a nail to make contact with the relay. I opened it up and saw where it wasn't making contact. The dealer said to buy a new relay and if that doesn't work buy a new ignition switch. I dont think either of the two parts are bad. I don't know for sure. I tested it with a test light as soon as you crank it it looses power. Please help. Robert
